Natural and Warm
A built-in buffet and original paneling give the dining room a rich warmth. A vintage Danish table and chairs and a Noguchi Akari lamp sit on an Egyptian rug. Alonso designed natural burlap window panels that swag to the side. The recycled wine bottle glasses are by Heath Ceramics.

Photo Frame Wainscotting
"I ran out of wall space," Alonso says, "so I just propped photographs on the floor. It's like wainscoting." Dennis Hopper's portraits of Tuesday Weld and Phil Spector and a photo by Lisa Eisner, Psycho Tulip, flank the window. His sofa is simply a twin mattress and box spring covered in painter's linen. He had a red linen shade made for the 1960s brass lamp. "I had seen one in a restaurant and thought, 'I want that.'"
